Great App

Its a great app, but the only feature that I want is the DropBox integration, to I get my code sniplets sync on all my computers.

Really good

The app is really good and fits very well in workflow. Thanks for the app, totally worth 5 dollars. The only thing that I dont like is be displayed in command+tab. For me this kind of app that runs in background most of the time should be hidden.

Now is Fantastic

I really like gist sharing, awesome job Vadim!!

Great but there is a bug

This app is really helpful But When I am using an external monitor, the codebar pop up does not appear. Don`t appear on external monitor nor macbook monitor.

Just perfect and works!

Perfect idea! Just need this sort of simple app to boost my productivity. Been some time looking for an app sorting out all my codes, not only web stuff, but like vba or other coding etc. With tags and good folder management system, I highly recommend this piece of art!

Just what I wanted

Great ideas are rare and an additional great implementation almost never happenes. CodeBox is very well integrated into the UI and looks great, too. I would love it if there was somehow a way integrate DropBox / SFTP or save the Snippets somewhere online, so that one could access it from different computers. But well worth the money and anyone who is programming will find this very useful!

processor intense

i basically really like the app, i was just wondering why it particularly requires such massive processor performance. especially when i start saving and/or copying snippet parts between different elements, my 8-core MacPro seems to get stuck a lil and my processors activity go way up in the sky! ... feels a lil scary to be honest ... especially when you use something like a "text/source code app" ... once the performance issues of this software are worked out id be happy to upgrade my review with additional stars, but so far only worth a 3-star rating from me.

Almost perfect.

I still wish to have a »Cloud« or let’s say synching support different from Dropbox. Just because our companies IT-Department is blocking Dropbox. Maybe via an integrated FTP-Tool where you need an own FTP-Server which can be defined in the preferences from CodeBox. Besides of my personal synching issue I’m very satiesfied with the Application. From the UI to the handling with snippets. It’s all working like a charm. I just encountered a very exotic bug with the syntax highlighting in one of my Javascript snippets which I was able to workaround with instant feedback from the developer via email. I’m going to rate the application with 5 stars when I’m able to sync my snippets ; ]

Just what I needed

The app does exactly what I want it to do - help me organize my snippets. Not bloated with unneeded functions - just right. I have had contact with the developer a couple of times and it is great: speedy and helpful answers. I am looking forward to using it with more of my projects.

miss 32bit Support

I like this App but since the new Update the have cut off the 32Bit Support. But i have a old white MacBook and i can only run 32Bit. Please compile also for 32Bit and not only for 64.

Großartig & überraschend einfach

I can fully recommend Codebox! Although I dont use some of the great features (like folders, smart-folders, groups) Im convinced by Vadims App. A well balanced combination by abbreviations and ths use of codebar (with variables and "Edit Code") pushes my workflows to another dimension! And I am working with a bunch of different "languages" (such as Typoscript,HTML,CSS,Turbine,JAVASCRIPT,PHP). I am not organizing my snippets at all - the chaos of unsorted snippets fits perfectly, and works well with code box. The only downer was some missing syntax highlightings - now even TYPOSCRIPT is supported! Simply: WOW. Great App - great prize!

Another great Update

This is an app I can only recommend to any developer!

Great App

Great app but I would like to have iCloud-Support ...

Great App

very usefull, fast and clean. Unfortunately, the documentation does not exist - but the developer kindly answered my question very fast.

Locked in...

What is stored in this app? Code. What format does code have? Plaintext. So why does this guy store all my precious snippets in a single monster XML file where the plaintext code is "binary encrypted"? No Export to file system. No Printing. No "copy all to clipboard". So you will be locked in to this app, once you use it. So you can sync va dropbox. But all other PCs need CodeBox, too. No "normal" editor/viewer can access the snippets later. No usage with iPhone/iPad/Windows/Linux possible. To pitty, that the app itself is fast and clean and feature rich. Only the wrong storage format - at least for me. Sorry. 2 Stars for trying to lock me in.

Just awesome!

Does more than expected - love the toolbar widget and the „paste to <current app>“ feature. This will enhance my entire devloper workflow! Thank you so much for such a great app!

Great App, but are there any updates coming?

Hey I’ve been using your App for a while now and always liked everything. But your last update was in 2012. Is this project continued, or do I have to look for an alternative? I am asking because I’ve installed Yosemite and all I see is a blank screen of your App.

Missing swift support

Pretty nice. But Swift support would be awesome(Syntax Highlighting)!

One of the best with potential to get better

First: Great efficient app for developers every day use. Very fast Support responses. Second: There is some potential to get better. A bit more documenation please (Placeholder in php files must have three underscores). The placeholder recognition must be better: ___myplaceholder____function_name() {} "bla_function_name()“ could be the desired result. But here we have 4 underscores, so the placeholder is not recognized. I am looking forward to an update.

Very nice but where are the updates?

The App is does what expected. But there was no update since 2012 and there is many stuff that could be better. For example an Alfred Workflow integration. A nice feature would be to run the code in the app like in jsfiddle? What about an iOS Version when i need the snippets and my MacBook is somewhere else? My Codebar is also not working on the latest Yosemite but the app itself is still usable.
